WASHINGTON STATE (NOV. 2, 2015) – Northwest Farmers Union (NWFU) and President Kent Wright hosted their annual convention in Airway Heights, WA at the Northern Quest Casino and Resort. The event was done in conjunction with the Cattle Producers of Washington (CPOW) and members of both organizations took advantage of the wealth of speakers and vendors on hand. The event lasted two days and consisted of 13 different speakers talking on a number of topics ranging from Washington Agriculture to Industrial Hemp and Cannabis.
“We had such a wealth of knowledgable speakers here that it really made the event worthwhile for the attendees,” said Wright. “I am very proud of our staff and how we were able to have this come together along with the support of CPOW and their members.”
Attendees from Washington, Idaho and Oregon were present with the majority of members being from the home state of Washington. The event took place over two days with a social and dinner with auction included. A number of elected officials were in attendance as well during the affair.
“We are providing something of value to our members and we hope to continue to do that with additional members coming forward and giving us their insights and assistance,” added Wright.
The Northwest Farmers Union is an agriculture advocacy group that works under the National Farmers Union and operates in Washington, Idaho and Oregon. Wright summed up the event by saying, “I think a lot of collaboration and good work was done here and I look forward to our event next year, which will be held in Oregon.”
The 2016 dates and location have yet to be determined, but will be announced in coming months on the Northwest Farmers Union website www.nwfu.org.
